BR 1-06: The New House

This is the story about moving to a new house. The family in this book moved to a new house with many things. If I move, I want new furniture. I have heard old furniture has many eggs of cockroaches. Then the eggs hatch, and cockroaches come to existence.
    
My house was built about 140 years ago. Because of very old house, it has been made over many times. It has seven rooms. My mother uses one room of them as a classroom of cram school. My room has six and half mats. I feel small, so I want to expand my room. And I want to rebuild my house into gorgeous one in the future.

BR 1-05: By the Stream

This is the story about children play by the stream. One child of them dropped a Teddy bear into the stream in the story.  Looking back when I was a child, I often dropped my sandals into a river. And I was scolded by my mother many times.
    
Do you like to play in the river? I like to do it, but I don't like to go to the sea. That's because my skin is sticky with a sea breeze. Once I enter to the sea, being sticky doesn't stop easily. I have hated the sea since I entered to the sea for the first time. If I go there with my friends, I sit down on the sand.

My other classes

I talk about my weekly class schedule.

On Monday, I have classes in the first, second and fourth period. In the first period, I have Psychology class. First period starts at 9, so I always fall into a depression. In the second period, I have PE. This period is the most pleasant of them all, and I become active. In the fourth period, I have Speaking class. Because I am shy, I don't like this class.

On Tuesday, I have classes in the third, fourth and fifth period. In the third period, I have Western art history class. I can watch various arts every week, so I am pleasant. In the fourth period, I have International organization theory class. It is beneficial because I learn organizations around the world. In the fifth period, I have Introduction to Japanese language class. Because of fifth period, I am very sleepy.

On Wednesday, I have only Writing class.

On Thursday, I have classes from second to fourth period. In the second period, I have Cultural anthropology class. I am amused that there are various types of mankind. In the third period, I have Listening class. I am not good at listening, so I want to improve my listening ability. In the fourth period, I have Japanese literature subscription class. I learn Japanese classics. I am not good at it either, so it is beyond the reach of my understanding. In the fifth period, I have Reading class. I study with an English paper. I think I am busy on this day.

On Friday, I have classes from first to fourth period. I the first period, I have International society class. I learn many political events that occurred around the world. In the second period, I have American literature history class. I can watch many movies in this class. In the third class, I have Introduction to English linguistics class. I can watch movies in this class too. In the fourth period, I have Introduction to information processing. I like to use a computer, so this class is pleasant for me.

Then my workday is continued in next week.

BR 1-04: The Dream

After I read this book, I felt a dream is very mysterious. I don't know well why people see a dream when they go to sleep. I have heard the phenomenon occurs on a rapid eye movement sleep, but I don't know that mean. I want to contribute to a TV program "Shirushirumishiru", because this program hears our prayers.
    
Do you like a dream? I don't like it. I often go to sleep with keeping TV on. Then I dream of the almost same content as TV. In a way, I felt displeased. And I don't want to have a terrifying dream. If I have a pleasant dream, I am disappointed when I know that is just dream. In conclusion, I don't want to dream.

Essay 1-02b: About KGU

    Hello. My name is Mitsuki. I am a university student at KGU. I will talk about my university to you as a student preparing for an examination. Please hear.

    Firstly, I introduce KGU simply. KGU has four faculties and twenty departments. I belong to the Faculty of Foreign Language, the Department of Britain and America. This university has many useful facilities. For example, a library. We use it for doing many things. We use it not only when we want read a book and we need to collect materials for an assignment paper, presentation of seminar and a graduation thesis but also when want to listen to music and watch a movie too. If you want to study, you should go there. And English Lounge is also a good place. You can communicate with overseas students there. When I have free time, I often go there. And KGU has a school cafeteria. It has many menus. You can eat reasonable food. Because everyone goes there, we can't take seats.


    Secondly, I talk about class of first grade. You can learn a second foreign language. You choose among Spanish, French, German or Russian when you enter there. I chose Spanish. The next day of an entrance ceremony, you have to take SLEP test. According to your score, your level of compulsory subjects is decided. You must fail no credit, especially compulsory subject. Next year, you will have a difficulty of making class timetable. I felt I had many free times. So you have to spend free time effectually. I spent playing cards at the school cafeteria or English Lounge. When you are in the first grade, maybe you have class first period and fifth period. I think you feel lazy if you are weak at early morning. So enough sleeping is necessary!w


    Next, I talk about my present university life. I made my class timetable so as not to have a class first period. So my university life in the second grade is more restful than first grade. But there is much homework compared with first grade. After all, because I'm pressed by homework, I'm very busy. You have to be ready for that while now.


    In addition, you can spend holidays on hanging out with your friends. The summer vacation has about two months, and the spring vacation has more. I went to Kikuchi ravine in the summer vacation. I enjoyed a barbeque at the house of my friend. Anyway, you may enjoy long vacation.


    Lastly, I want you to know KGU is very pleasant. Teachers are kind, and classmates are amusing. There are various facilities. You can eat reasonable food. You can spend your free time on doing whatever you like. It leaves nothing to be desired. Just there is much homework. So please look forward to entering at KGU.

BR 1-02: Present for Dad

After I read this book, it let me realize the importance of family. I think the form that father is the strongest in family is the best. Now in Japan, the word "oniyome" is popular. I think the representation of it is Akira Hokuto. She was a wrestler, so she is very strong. Her husband Kensuke Sasaki was a wrestler too, and of course he is very strong, but he is timid. Therefore she is stronger than him. That's why Akira Hokuto is called oniyome. In a way I am relieved that my mother is not an oniyome. I think my father is playing an important part as the breadwinner. I like the form of my family.

BR 1-03: Go Away, Floppy

After I read this book, I felt we have to think of a pet as family. In the world, there are people who don't have a sense of responsibility for keeping a pet and stop keeping. I think those who do such a thing regard a pet as just animal. They have no right to have a pet from the outset.
    
I have a dog. His name is Rocky. He is a mongrel and medium size. He is very cute and smart. He can sit, shake and wait. I love him, and absolutely he loves me very much.
    
By the way, I want to have an alpaca in the future. And I want to open my zoo.

BR1-01: Animal Legends

The cat and the rat

This story tells the beginning of bad relationship between cats and rats. Interestingly, the cat and the rat got along well. Every day they had spent pleasant life, but they thought it was bored. The rat proposed an adventure to the cat. The cat agreed with him. At first, I felt uneasy about their plan, but my thinking changed later. They made an excellent ship without any trouble. So they were sailing well. But they forgot to pile foods. The rat ate some parts of the ship little by little while the cat was sleeping. After all, the ship sank. So the cat was angry. That's why the bad relationship began.

Why monkeys live in trees

This story tells why monkeys live in trees as the title. That custom began because of cunning of monkeys. Animals were given an ordeal by Naresh, gorilla whose daughter was admired by every animal. The ordeal was to drink a barrel of rum. Many animals tried it, but they failed. They gave up without a monkey.  The monkey was confident. The monkey drank a large mouthful of the rum, and ran into the bushes. Few minutes later, he came back. Then he drank a mouthful of the rum, and ran into the bushes. He repeated that again and again. In fact, many monkeys took turns to drink it little by little. Although they achieved the ordeal, they are detected cheating at all. You must not keep bad secret from anyone because you are detected sooner or later.

How I study English

I have studied English since I was in the first grade. As I talked before, I went to a cram school of my mother. I studied conversational expression, so I was able to speak to some extent. And I played cards. A word was written, and a picture of it was drawn on the card. As I played with the cards, I remembered words. Because of that, I was able to learn many words by heart. When I was a high school student, I made my own dictionary. I wrote the word that I learned and translation into Japanese of it into the dictionary in order of initial. That's how I studied English. Now, I study English by listening to music.

Food/eating habits

I don't eat breakfast on weekends. I often eat rusk for lunch. It is sold as 50 yen at the school cafeteria. Because it is cheap and delicious, I buy rusk. I sometimes eat dinner with my friends. My favorite restaurant is "Agetate". You can eat meal heartily for 130 yen at a minimum there. It serves rice for 130 yen and you can eat rice as much as you like. I usually eat breakfast on holiday. I often eat ramen noodles for breakfast. Regardless of weekday and holiday, I always eat snacks between meals. I buy snacks at Maruzen in KGU.  I want to keep off snacks because I have put on weight recently.

Golden Week plans

This title is "plans", but I talk how my Golden Week was because it had already past.

April 29, I went to karaoke with one of my friends. I had a throat trouble, so I wasn't able to sing too much.

May 3, this day was a weekday, so I went to the university as usual.

May 7, I went to CINEPLEX to watch a movie. I watched "Crayon Shinchan." The movie was very interesting. I think Shinchan has a talent, a gift and various abilities. I can't express him. Anyway he is breathtaking! But I don't want to become like him in a way.

May 8, the day was the last day of the Golden Week, so I rested all day long.

I led the full Golden Week.

About my family

     I will talk about my family simply.
     My father is 50. He works at a prefectural office. He leaves home at 7:00, earlier than I. He likes pachinko. Every day he goes to pachinko on his way home. I think it is a waste of money. But he often exchanges pachinko balls for snacks and gives them for me, so I allow that.
     My mother is also 50. My father and mother were classmates in junior high school.  She has a private cram school. I work there as a part time job. She teaches English. I used to be taught by her.
     My grandmother is about 70. I don't remember her age. She has a green thumb. Sometimes I help her in plowing a field.
     My older brother is 23. He works at Omron. He got married last year. So he doesn't live with us. He and his wife are spending happy life.

My hobbies

My hobby is to go to karaoke. When I first liked karaoke, I was in the fifth grade. At first, I didn’t sing very well, so I was made fun by my family. Because I felt mad, I practiced singing very hard. Because of that, I had had throat trouble four times. Lately forth trouble occurred. I don’t make my throat bad, so I want to care too much singing.

My second hobby is to play sport. My favorite sport is softball. Of course, I was in the softball club in high school. I have little confidence in softball, but I have no confidence in baseball. I think baseball is more difficult than softball. So I want to be a good baseball player! And someday I will go to the Majors!! With a watching ticket.

Music I Like

I like J-POP more than other types. My favorite musicians are Acid Black Cherry and AKB48. Acid Black Cherry is a band group. Its vocal is very cool and his voice is very attractive. He writes the lyrics and composes too. I often sympathize in his lyrics. AKB48 is the most famous and poplar idol group in Japan. "48" means that this group has 48 members. But actually more than 48 belongs to it. This produced by Yasushi Akimoto. He writes the lyrics. He has ever written more than 200 songs to them. I think they don’t sing very much, but their dance is very excellent. So I like them.
